  Welcome, today I will be reviewing my personal top 5 goals of the weekend in the Premier League. Excluding the Monday night fixture between Sunderland and Everton, I will describe my thoughts on the best goals.

                        

   5 -  Steven Defour vs Hull

  Steven Defour scored the opening goal of the game for Burnley with a lovely touch on the turn sending Sam Clucas the wrong way and nowhere close to the on-rushing midfielder. The Belgian then ran on another 10 yards from the halfway line before releasing a thunderous strike from all of 35 yards out, which flashed past Eldin Jakupovic at his near post. Possibly the goalkeeper could have done better but the shot flew in and sent the Burnley fans into a sensational roar.

4 - Laurent Koscielny vs Southampton

   The French centre-back Laurent Koscielny scored an awesome overhead kick after the ball bounced around inside box following a corner. Koscielny found a couple yards of space inside the area where he threw himself into the air and scissor kicked the ball into the bottom right corner. A wonderful effort, not to mention the goal came from a natural centre back. Any overhead kick is a wonderful sight and this one by Koscielny is no exception. 

  This isn't the first fantastic goal Koscielny has scored, although his rabona effort was in a pre-match warm up, it was still a goal to take note of, I will leave the link below.

3 - Callum Wilson vs West Brom -

  The English man Callum Wilson got his first goal after his long injury layoff, with a very tidy finish with his back heel. Adam Smith fired a ball across the box where Callum Wilson ran across his man, flicking his foot at it, allowing the ball to smoothly fly off his heel into the bottom corner. The great improvisation by Bournemouth's key striker put his side a goal up with just moments left of the game, and claim 3 fantastic points.

2 - Michail Antonio vs Watford -

  Purely given as 2nd in my list due to the magic by the talented Dimitri Payet, Michail Antonio headed home from close range after Payet skinned the right back. After Antonio had already got his first of the gam to put West Ham a goal in front, Payet wonderfully bamboozled his defender before cutting back and whipping in a great rabona cross that fell gracefully onto the head of Antonio to simply touch it into the open goal.  

1 - Adam Lallana vs Leicester City

  The best goal of the entire weekend came from English man Adam Lallana with his 2nd goal in as many games when his spectacular strike rocketed past Schmeichel and rattled the top corner. His 'worldy' fired Liverpool's 4th goal past Leicester in their romp at the new look Anfield with the new stand unveiled. The goal was also the 100th goal in Klopp's reign, and it was a fantastic goal to have that name.

The Biggest Game in England!

THE RED SIDE OF DERBY DAY!

          MANCHESTER UNITED vs.  MANCHESTER CITY

  Welcome back to MyPremierLeagueThoughts, I apologies for the lack of content lately, I was away on holiday for the first few weeks of the season and so didn't watch too much football! However, I have no excuses now to get on with my blog and provide my thoughts on what is happening in the world of football.

  After the short, International break, which in my opinion is unnecessary and annoying as it comes just as the Premier League is starting to come to life and enlighten our weekends, but the FA decide to stick a boring England game in despite no football fan feeling the hype, especially after the disappointment of the summer in France. I do hope Big Sam does well with England, he is a good manager and i feel he suits the job well and is what England needs at the moment. Despite it being Sam's first game however, I will not be watching the game. 
  As i was saying, after the International break, the Premier League gets underway once again and in what a way to do so with the first Manchester derby of the season! Arguably, THE biggest game in English football, the English 'el classico', the two local rivals will fight it out for Manchester! On this day, no football fan can be a neutral, everybody who knows football will secretly be backing one of the teams. 
  As if the match didn't have enough tension already on the field, throwing two of the best, enemy managers just feet away from each other in their technical areas will only add the the exciting game. Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola bring massive ego's the the huge clubs, both with points to prove, both playing their first ever derby in Manchester, both battling it out for top spot in the Premier League. The similarities continue with both managers looking to continue their 100% winning records in the Premier League, and most importantly both managers will want the 3 points. The fire will be their, the tackles will be flying in, and there will be goals!
  
  Sergio Aguero is one man who will be watching from the stands. What a blow that is for City and what a bonus for United. The Argentina player has 8 goals for City against Manchester United but will not be able to add to his tally in this fixture due to an usual lack of discipline which caused him to swing an elbow out, smashing it into Winston Reid, of West Ham, which at the time went unpunished but after being reviewed, the FA have sentenced a 3-match ban on Aguero. 
  The loss of the key danger man upfront will certainly hurt but Manchester City have bundles of talent still in their ranks and with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Nolito on form, the game will still be a nervy, scrappy collision. 

  Along with Jose Mourinho, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are also debuting in the Manchester derby. Pogba will know of the rivalry from his teenage days at Old Trafford, but would thrive on the big game atmosphere anyway, likewise with Ibrahimovic whose huge talents and ego alike will contribute massively in Manchester United's favor in this tie. The two heavy-weights will be difference makers for The Red Devils but Wayne Rooney is also a man not to be ruled out of making a difference in the derby. 
  Rooney, through-out his time at Old Trafford has thrived on the atmosphere in the derby against the 'noisy neighbors'  proven by the record he holds of 11 goals which makes him top scorer in this event. The England Captain, may not have been at his best this season, so far, but he does have a knack for turning up when The Blues turn up and produce something special, that over-head kick, for example.     

  Youngsters could be a huge part of this tie, with Aguero out we could see Iheanacho make a start, and the 19 year old should not be looked over as he has an eye for goal and is not frightened of the big occasion. On the United side, Antonio Valencia, who has been a stand out player so far, returns from Ecuador just 24 hours before the game, which could force a change of right back. Fosu-Mensah is one young star i would like to see fill in that position. He is highly rated and needs game time to improve and become the amazing talent he could reach.  

  

  My prediction for the game is : Manchester United 2 - Manchester City 0

  Slightly biased, maybe, but i am a Manchester United supporter and can see the quality of our side being too much for City on the day. Aguero will be a giant loss and the factor which see's De Gea keep a clean sheet. If i was to predict the goalscorers, just as an extra, i would say Zlatan Ibrahimovic and then a toss up between Rooney and Martial, the stick my neck out i will say Martial!

3 DEFENDERS (INCLUDING GOALKEEPERS) THAT WILL IMPRESS IN THE 16/17 SEASON

1 - VICTOR VALDES

   Despite being 34 years old and not making his mark on the Premier League with Manchester United, Middlesbrough have made a fantastic transfer swoop by brining the Spaniard into the team. His experience and goalkeeping abilities will help win Middlesbrough points and keep them fighting in the top flight. He will not only be useful in terms of his personal attributes but he will give the squad confidence from the past and medals Valdes has achieved. Middlesbrough as a whole have had an incredible transfer market and Victor Valdes is just one of the players who will prove himself this season and have a fantastic run. Valdes would have been a quality player for any side in the league and if it hadn't have been for Manchester United having David De Gea, I would've tipped him to do well at Old Trafford.

2 - TIMOTHY FOSU-MENSAH

  Anybody who has seen even just 15 minutes of Timothy Fosu-Mensah's game knows that he is destined to be a star in football. The Dutch international stands at a huge 6'3"and has a massive built body, the 18 year old is strong and plays the defensive role very well, because he has vision and composure to tackle and go up against any striker as well as getting his head up and playing out of defence. Under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, Fosu-Mensah signed a new 5 year contract and is looking part of Jose's plans. How long is it before we see the youngster starting? He certainly has the talent and is one to watch...

3 - REECE OXFORD

 

 In a West Ham United squad where youth talent is no rarity, one man, Reece Oxford shines brighter than anyone. After making his competitive debut for 'The Hammers' against Arsenal he was hailed by West Hams supports for having Mesut Ozil 'in his pocket' and keeping the German superstar very quiet in the game. Under mastermind manager Slaven Bilic, Reece Oxford come become a key figure in the side and progress to become a fantastic player for England in future years! This could be the season we see Reece Oxford push his way into the side at the new home of West Ham, The London Stadium, and live up the the potential and awe supports have of him.

Will England's talented youngsters live up to their potentials? Does this mean England might have a good National Team in the coming years? Which defender have I missed off my list? Let me know your thoughts on the new season!

3 MIDFIELD PLAYERS THAT WILL IMPRESS IN THE 16/17 SEASON

1 - NATHANIEL CHALOBAH

 

  21 year old, Nathaniel Chalobah has always been on the fringes of bursting into the Chelsea main team, however it has not yet happened. Under new manager Conte, Chalobah may just be set to make that leap into the senior squad. After being with Chelsea from 2005, Chalobah was included in the Chelsea squad back in 2012, but never made an appearance. Several loan spells later brings us to the beginning of this season where the youngster has had a very good start to life under Conti. Impressive performances in preseason and coming up with a goal after a great determined run through the defence allowed him to fire the ball into the net.

  Conte certainly can help out the English talent and the fans should be on their toes with this potential Premier League star!

2 - DEMARAI GREY

  Yet another English talent who could have a glorious season in the Premier League. The 20 year old from Birmingham joined Champions Leicester City after they met his £3.7 million release clause in his contract. Grey has already made his debut in the Premier League and so has had a taster of what playing in the league requires. Last season with Leicester challenging for the league and Mahrez in incredible form, Demarai couldn't have been risked to play much games. However, this season we could see him come in for much more games and be given the chance by Ranieri to show what he can do and raise to the potential he has!

  Demarai Grey has fantastic quick feet and will always look to run at defences which will cause problems and free up space for Jamie Vardy. If he can look up and find Vardy, i'm sure Grey will be ranking up the assists and every Premier League side will be cautious of the young man.

3 - PIERRE-EMILE HOJBERG

  Formally of Bayern Munich, any Football Manager player will know of this kid and his potential. The Danish wonder kid can play the centre defensive midfield role excellently, he has fantastic vision and is willing the help out his team with all the 'dirty-work' of football. Southampton's new £12 million man could come straight into the line up as a replacement for Wanyama who let The Saints for Tottenham. Hojberg may only be 21 years old but if he can adapt to the physicality of the Premier League, he could be a star player.

3 ATTACKING PLAYERS THAT WILL IMPRESS IN THE 16/17 SEASON

 

1 - ANDRE GRAY

  Exciting Englishman, Andre Gray played a crucial part in Burnley being promoted to the top flight. The 25 year old notched up an impressive 23 goal haul during the season which pushed Burnley up to the summit of the Championship table.

  Eventual Champions of the Championship, Burnley have a tough task as they look to cement themselves in the Premier League, with the massive influx of superstar players and managers alike throughout the top sides, the 'smaller' teams in the league will have to battle between themselves as every point, let alone 3, may prove to be vital come the end of the season.

  Gray has the potential to get a plus 10 goal tally in the league, with the correct service and if he can retain his form from the previous season, Burnley could challenge remaining in the Premier League.

  Pace is a attribute that is essential for a striker in the Premier League, along with the strength Grey possesses he could be a surprise package and an awkward customer for plenty of teams.

  A good season with Burnley could see him make a move away from Turf Moor to a more stable side in the league, where we could see him thrive and become a regular in the top scorers list.

2 - JORDON IBE

  £15 million new boy, Jordon Ashley Femi Ibe, joins Bournemouth with bags of potential. The English winger has pace, skill and has, on his better days, an eye for goal. Leaving Liverpool would have been an emotional move for the London born 20 year old, as he had a great connection with Liverpool's number 15, Daniel Sturridge. However, the move he made to Bournemouth could prove to be fantastic in terms of his career as he will most likely at least double the amount of games that he starts in meaning he can unleash his ability and show the Premier League what he has.

  At only a tender age of 20, he clearly still has time to live up to his potential and grow as a football but what he brings to Bournemouth for this season is energy which could serve them well. Ibe will be one of the main men for Eddie Howe's side and we could see him flourish under his new boss.

  Along with striker Callum Wilson, we could be set to see Bournemouth and Jordon Ibe, in particular, take the season by storm, look out for the English youngster.

3 - MARCUS RASHFORD

  Every football fan has heard his name. Time and again, this 18 year old has been mentioned. Marcus Rashford has made his name one to remember. His first start came as a shock to him let alone anyone else, when Antony Martial injured himself in the warm up to the Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland on the 24th February. 2 goals on the night of his Manchester United made heads turn. to back that up with 2 goals on his Premier League debut against non other than Arsenal made people take notice and ask questions about the United Academy graduate. 1 Manchester Derby, 1 Marcus Rashford goal, after he embarrassed Demichelis and put the ball beyond Joe Hart. 96 days after his call up to the Manchester United line up, he was called up to the England National Team, for which, just 2 minutes into the game, Marcus Rashford scored! The King of Debuts! 

  Marcus proved last season that he will take any opportunity given to him and thrive off it, and this is the reason I rate him as a potential superstar for this season. I don't think he will beat Zlatan to a starting spot in the team but training with Ibrahimovic will benefit Rashford an incredible amount. The reason Rashford will be so key to Manchester United this season will be his energy and desire to score. This will win Manchester United so many points when he comes off the bench for the final 20-30 minutes and creates and scores chances.

My Premier League Table Prediction 2016/17 

  

   What a season we are going to have this time round, some world-class players and managers alike have joined the best league in the world! Who do I think will not survive the drop? Who will win the league? Find out in my Premier League Table Prediction 2016/17... 

  

  

  Hey guys, welcome to my new blog, in which I will be discussing the football season in the greatest league on earth, the Premier League. I will kick off my blog with this season prediction, then I will endeavor to produce weekend predictions and reviews and often post when there is a huge football story worth discussing. Let's get stuck into the predictions... 

  

  

20 - HULL CITY    

  Could a club come into the premier league in a worse state than Hull City have? With no manager as of yet, Hull City are set the start the season with Mike Phelan taking charge, in a tough challenge against the champions Leicester City. However, with no real leadership at the club and no new signings to strengthen the squad to be able to challenge in the premier league, it could all just downhill back to the Championship for Hull City and their fans, who I tip to end the season bottom of the Premier League.  

  

19 - BURNLEY 

  Unfortunately the club from Lancashire will yo-yo up from the Championship but will return just a season later, in my opinion. The club just don't look to have the firepower to survive the Premier League and I can't see them picking up enough points to see them remain clear of relegation. Andre Grey is a spectacular player and I can see him having a good season, perhaps bagging his side 10+ goals, but with a below average defence and not much to provide the goals that will cut open stubborn Premier League sides, Burnley will have it tough and slide into the drop zone.  

  

18 - WATFORD 

  Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney were vital to Watford last season with their impressive goal tallies which claimed their side massive points which ultimately lead to a comfortable finish for the club. However, if it hadn't had been for the duo, Watford wouldn't have been so successful and this season I don't think the pairing will be able to continue their form which leads to my prediction of Watford dropping down to the Championship.  

  

17 - BOURNEMOUTH 

  Narrowly escaping the drop is Bournemouth. With an incredible young English manager in Eddie Howe, Bournemouth will survive relegation, just, by finishing in 17th. The speculative 'second season syndrome' will be a conspiracy within the club, but the team have enough the pull through and remain in the top flight. Matt Ritchie will be a big loss to Bournemouth as he has departed to Newcastle United of the Championship. 

  

16 - WEST BROMWICH ALBION 

  West Brom will again remain in the Premier League as they always seem to do for the last few seasons. The team will be comfortably away from the bottom 3, but I do not see them having enough quality to challenge mid table. Rondon will need to step up from his average form last season and bag some goals. Johnny Evans, Darren Fletcher and Ben Forster are experienced Premier League players, but with Sadio Berahino looking to move away from the club, the youth and mix of the squad is very aged and this could be a factor that contributes to West Brom not hitting bigger heights than 16th position.  

  

15 - SUNDERLAND 

  New boss, David Moyes will be a huge addition to the club after the departure of Sam Allardyce, the Scotsman has a huge point to prove after some difficult few years for him in management. Jermaine Defoe and his goals will be key to securing a mid-table spot, but also with the likes of Wahbi Khazri and Jeremain Lens, Sunderland have potential to be an awkward side this season for the bigger teams. Youth talent comes in an abundance with Sunderland in the likes of Duncan Watmore and Jordan Pickford, two players David Moyes will be able to get the best out of.  

 
 

14 - MIDDLESBROUGH   

  The only promoted side I see staying put in the Premier League is Middlesbrough and this is largely due to their excellent use of the transfer market and the funds they had available. The signings of Victor Valdes, Alvaro Negredo and Viktor Fischer add to an already pretty talented team. Aitor Karanka deserves a pat on the back for completing these quiet tremendous signings and helping Middlesbrough try to establish themselves as a Premier League team. Jordan Rhodes is a fantastic striker and will be an essential part of the team with his goals which I can see him getting around the 15 mark if successful and helped by the experience in Negredo.    

  

13 - SWANSEA CITY  

  The representation of Wales in the top league in England is Swansea who are a very good side. Francesco Guidolin has a big task in keeping Ashley Williams after his terrific Euro 2016 display has attracted Everton and whilst writing this Swansea have agreed on a £12 million move, but with the Welsh man as a commanding captain over players such as Gylfi Sigurdsson, who I rate massively, Swansea will cement 13th position. Maybe lacking in the striker area especially with the departure of Andre Ayew to West Ham, so a new signing there wouldn't be a bad thing but I think Swansea are set for an average mid table spot.  

  

12 - SOUTHAMPTON 

  Considered a selling club, Southampton will have to produce one of there seasonal wonder achievements to finish any higher than 12th spot. Big losses over previous seasons look nothing compared to the huge hole left behind from the departure of genius Dutch manager, Ronald Koeman. The man would perform remarkable things year on year despite losing key players, however, with a loss of even more stars and the manager, Southampton will be looking at mid-table with new French manager Claude Puel. 

  

11 - CRYSTAL PALACE 

  Selhurst Park could be hosting a surprise package this season with Crystal Palace recruiting and adding to a side that already looked mightily good. With the likes of Bolasie, Zaha, Puncheon and Cabaye in the team already, the squad has been bolstered with the new signings; Steve Mandanda, Andros Townsend. The loss of Dwight Gayle to Newcastle will not faze them if they manage to secure a deal for targets Benteke or Berahino. Alan Pardew's FA Cup finalist team is beginning to look a frightening one.  

  

10 - STOKE CITY 

  Right in the middle of the table, I have predicted Stoke. Securing a new contract with Marko Arnautovic was massive and he is a player that can prove to be a difference in big games. Along with Xherdan Shaqiri, Stoke look threatening going forward. Young English talent Jack Butland is a valuable man to have between the sticks and could soon become England's number 1 in the next couple of seasons. Shawcross and Imbula provide a secure reassurance for Stoke defensively and I think 10th will be a respectable position for a club that looks as though it could be rising up the league in the coming years.  

  

9 - EVERTON 

  The blues of Merseyside will have to settle for a finish below their red counterparts from across the park. New boss Koeman is a fantastic replacement for the new Belgium manager Martinez who was going stale with the Everton supporters. Retaining the services of Romelu Lukaku will be vital for Everton after Manchester City managed to price John Stones away for no less than £47 million. Everton are linked with a £12million for Ashley Williams which would be fantastic but Everton would also benefit from improvements in midfield.  

  

8 - LEICESTER CITY  

  After an incredible season which, as you know, saw Leicester lift the Premier League trophy, teams attempted to dissect the champions. However, at this point only Kante has been prized away, with key player Jamie Vardy honourably rejecting Arsenal in favour of staying loyal to his new adoring fans. Holding onto Riyad Mahrez and Wes Morgan will also be beneficial, but with new signings Musa and Mendy, Leicester City will still be a strong unit and finish in a strong position. Having Champions League football and seeing Leicester compete will be fantastic but will test the strength and depth in the squad.  

  

7 - WEST HAM UNITED 

  Slaven Bilic and The Hammers emotionally move from The Boleyn Ground to their new home The London Stadium, formally known as The Olympic Park. This will only benefit West Ham and I think Payet and the rest of the team will thrive in the years to come. Feghouli and Tore are great new additions to the side who are on the verve of qualifying for the Europa League. 

'Before we get into the top 6, I would just like to point out that from this league positon, it is tough. Arguably, every team in the European spots could have a shout at winning the league and my predictions could be totally turned on their heads come the end of May, none the less here are my top 6' 

6 - TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS 

  Tottenham are blessed with talent, from the likes of young Englishmen Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier to their goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and solid Belgium centre-back pairing Alderweireld and Vertonghen. Victor Wanyama comes in to strengthen the side and with mastermind Mauricio Pochettino leading them, I think Spurs will be unfortunate to miss out on top 4.  

  

5 - ARSENAL 

  Perhaps the biggest controversial call in my prediction, Arsenal to not claim 4th spot. I think this will be the biggest reality check for Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board who have been comportable for too long with not signing players they need and finishing in 4th spot every season. Arsenal didn't take a golden opportunity to win the league last season when most of the 'top sides' had problems. It is frustrating enough for non-Arsenal fans to see them not sign players in transfer windows depite having the funds but not the man to spend them. This season Arsenal lack a serious goalscorer and I can not see them winning titles with Olivier Giroud leading the line. To say Arsenal could have had superstar LUIS SUAREZ if it hadn't had been for stubborn Wenger trying to negotiate over £1 when adding another £5million would have been the same drop in the ocean to them. 5th may not even be a bad option for the supporters of Arsenal as it would finally result in the board noticing that the club can not compete with teams that go out and spend. I may also be as bold to say, this could be Arsene Wenger's last season with Arsenal.  

  

4 - LIVERPOOL 

  Taking 4th position and the a potential Champions League spot is, Liverpool. It will be Jurgen Klopp's first full season in charge at Anfield and this will allow him to instrument his philosophy into the Liverpool team as he has a full summer window to buy his style of players. Brining in the likes of Mane and Wijnaldum to add to the plethora of talented attacking midfielders at Liverpool looks like Klopp is building his team. In a preseason that saw them turn over Barcelona 4-0, a result that should not be taken lightly especially considering the strength of the Barcelona outfit. A high pressing Liverpool side is one we may see come to the Premier League and I think it could work massively in their favour. If Sturridge can remain fit, Liverpool have an exception talent upfront, but Origi as a backup is also a fantastic option.  

  

3 - CHELSEA  

  A dramatic improvement awaits Chelsea this season, however that wouldn't take much for the team that won the title and then finished in a slump 10th position. New manager Conte will inspire much of the team to turn things around at Stamford Bridge, with Eden Hazard being one player that he will massively want to get the best out of as on his day Hazard is right up there with the best. With a solid goalkeeper but an aging defence, an area Conte will look to improve in with links to fellow Italian Bonucci, a packed midfield with world-class players in the likes of Fabregas and Matic will allow Chelsea to fit in with Conte's style. Should Chelsea come to an agreement with Everton for Lukaku, the London club will be a dominating team through-out Europe in the coming seasons. A commanding season from the blues will see them finish nicely in 3rd. 

  

'The title, I always said this season will be heading to Manchester. To which side, its extremely hard to decide. My head tells me one things but my heart tells me another. The two teams are very evenly matched and with new managers both clubs will dominate the Premier League and the Champions League in future years. Only 4.6 miles separate the two clubs geographically but in football terms it is much closer. The team I predict to win the Premier League 2016/17 is...' 

  

2- MANCHESTER CITY 

  Pep Guardiola is a tactic genius and changed the whole dynamic on modern football. He will look to come to Manchester, into the Etihad and mark his mark on the club. With new signings John Stones, Leroy Sane, Gundogan and Nolito Manchester City look strong and have emphasised on youth, a factor of the squad that I think is a fantastic thing to see and credit Pep for this. Aguero will reach 20 goals with ease and the midfield as a whole is fantastic with Silva, Yaya and De Bruyne. Raheem Sterling, critised last season, will have a fresh start and could benefit massively from working with Guardiola. The only aspect preventing Manchester City from the title is fierce local rivals... 

  

1- MANCHESTER UNITED 

  My heart prevailed and Manchester United are the team I think will be crowned Champions of England. Jose Mourinho is a winning manager with the determination to succeed which 'The Red Devils' have lacked since the retirement of Sir Alex. Having prioritised 4 targets and succeeded in getting all four; Zlatan, Bailly, Mkaitaryan and finally £89million man Paul Pogba, the marquee signing of the summer, Manchester United has turned into a giant force which will bulldoze its way to the title. A strong team, with a strong manager will result in a strong season for Manchester United who will see off competition and retain the Premier League trophy for an extended record of 21 times. Old Trafford has some exciting times in store for Manchester United supporters, like myself, and they will enjoy them!
